Faux Finish Painting
What was old is now new and modern.
A painting technique found in older homes and historic structures, faux finishes creates the illusion of a surface, without expensive materials needing to be installed: marble, wood grain, leather, tortoise shell, and other organic materials, to name a few. To do this, M. Brett’s skilled team of house painters applies colored glaze to a wall, and then breaks it up with a sponge, cloth, or brush.
In both modern times and in the past, this technique gained popularity for a few reasons. One, it allows for an elegant, stunning space without spending excessive amounts on wood, stone, or fabric. Two, paint transforms the character of a room, and with a faux finish, your flat-seeming space suddenly has depth. It’s longer or smaller to your specifications – and, not to mention, more artistic looking – without new construction needed.
M. Brett’s experienced painters can create an array of stunning effects in a reasonable amount of time:
- Multi-dimensional softness
- Harlequin
- Venetian plaster
- Chalkboard paint
- Checkerboard
- Color washing
- Fresco
- Dry brushing
- Reflections
- Glitter
- Sponging
- Texture
- Stripes
- Ragging
The possibilities have no limit, and our team considers custom designs, ideas, and textures with all projects. To work on updating your space with a faux finish, contact our Connecticut office to schedule a free consultation.
